The average elevation of the terrain must be taken into account and subtracted from the altitude above the sea level to calculate the AGL. This will give you an average height above the ground. Example: A camera measuring 152mm in focal length can take an aerial photo at 2280m above the ground using a camera that has a focal length of 152mm.
